Murray, Joseph R.

Joseph R. Murray, 78, of Sheboygan passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.

Joe was born on September 17, 1934 in Sheboygan a son to the late Raymond and Theresa (Novak) Murray. He attended Sheboygan schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a photographer during the Korean Conflict era. In 1961 he was united in marriage to Eloise Meyer. He was a firefighter with the city of Sheboygan Fire Department from 1961 until 1989. Joe's greatest joy were his grandchildren, providing for and loving every moment with them.

Joe is survived by his wife, Eloise; his three sons, David (Christine) Murray of Sheboygan, Dennis (Catherine) Murray of Fredonia and Daniel (Kelly) Murray of Howards Grove; his grandchildren; Tristan (Amy) Murray of Indianapolis, Jake Murray of Sheboygan, Trent Murray of Fond du Lac, D.J. Murray of Sheboygan, Jessica Murray of Milwaukee, Ty Murray of Howards Grove, Joseph Murray of Fredonia and Thomas Murray of Sheboygan; his brothers and sisters, James Murray, Thomas (Janet) Murray and Barbara (Dave) Adams, all of Sheboygan, Kathleen (Leroy) Rau of Sheboygan Falls and Linda (Alan) Senkbeil of Elkhart Lake; and his mother-in-law, Alice Meyer of Appleton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jeremy, his sisters, Joan Van Der Sande and Patsy Felter, a sister-in-law Lorraine Murray and his father-in-law, Victor Meyer.

A graveside service for Joe will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 7 at the Union Cemetery in the town of Schleswig. A procession to the cemetery will leave at 11 a.m. from the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12 St.
