Cole, Peter E. (1935-2013)

Peter Earl Cole of Plymouth, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday morning, July 4, 2013, at the

age of 77 following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on September 1, 1935 to the late Guy and Beryl (Dickinson) Cole.

Peter graduated in 1953 from Nekoosa High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1953-1957.

Peter married Myra Stewart in July of 1957 in Florida. They moved to California, settling in Sebastopol where they raised six children and two grandchildren. Peter joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1958. He particularly enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts.

In 1972, Peter earned an associates degree in Police Science from the junior college in Santa Rosa, California. He later taught Police Science at both Santa Rosa and Napa Valley Jr. Colleges. Peter ran his own security company and also worked as a private investigator, specializing in criminal investigation throughout the western states.

Peter returned to Wisconsin in 2006, marrying his childhood sweetheart Becky Reeves (Wilhelmsen) on September 1, 2007.

Peter became an active member of the Plymouth Lion's Club. Peter continued to be a faithful servant in the LDS church for over 54 years, fulfilling many callings until his illness prevented him from doing so. Peter was a very loving and caring husband, father, step father, and grandparent. He spent his life serving family, friends, neighbors, and strangers with willing hands and a compassionate heart.

Pete is survived by his wife Becky; four daughters: Katrina, Malina, Faleen (Curt), and Tashia and one son, Douglas, all residing in California. Peter was blessed with 14 grandchildren: Auston (Lily), Bryce, Cheleen, Colbie (Evan), Corrie, Devin, Ochai, Jasine (Aaron), Jazon, Jacoby, Shamae, Shiloh, Tawni, and Tucker; as well as 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Phyllis) Cole of Port Edwards, WI; sisters Ginny Critser and Judy (Rick) Johnson, both of Minnetonka, Minnesota. He is further survived by his step-son, Scott (Julie) Wilhelmsen of Minnesota, and stepdaughter, Lisa (Dale) Meyer of Wisconsin, along with step-grandchildren Daniel, Jackson, Kera (Paul), and Lauren (Kristofer). He was predeceased by a daughter, Danielle and brother, Duane.

The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3920 Saemann Ave., Sheboygan WI on Sunday July 7, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until just prior to the service. After the ceremony a light luncheon will be served. Burial will take place on Monday, July 8, at 10:00 A.M. at Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials in Peter's name may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
