Bawden, PhD, Timothy Todd
Timothy Todd Bawden, PhD, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
Tim was born August 20, 1965 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Sandra Schmidt Bawden. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1983, where he participated in track and band, and served as student council president. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he served as President of the Oshkosh Student Association, and was a University Scholar. Tim then went on to earn Master's and Doctoral degrees in Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He taught at numerous UW-System schools before accepting a tenure-track position at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2001.
Tim married Wendy Sue Hakari in July 1992. Together they enjoyed traveling, Packer Football, Brewer Baseball, and anything and everything to do with Madison and the Wisconsin Badgers. In 1998, they were blessed with son, Maxwell. Tim was devoted to his son and enjoyed watching him develop into a remarkable young man and talented athlete.
Tim is survived by his wife, Wendy; son, Max; mother, Sandy of Kohler; stepfather, Arthur Bawden (Ruth Voit) of Minocqua; and great-aunt, Dolores Donlon of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Johanna (Nippgen) Schmidt.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, Wisconsin, 54720. Visitation is from 4 to 7:00 p.m. prior to service time.
