Alford Lee "Coffee" Harris

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Alford Lee "Coffee" Harris will be held at 12 noon, Monday, February 24, 2014 at Stonewall Baptist Church, 807 Eatman Street, Bossier City, LA. Pastor Uelyss Reed will officiate. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Swan Lake Road, Bossier City.

Family visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home, 1339 Jewell Street, Shreveport, LA.

Alford graduated from Charlotte Mitchell High School and was president of his class. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army, having served in combat in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged.

He was preceded in death by his, daughter, Alisha Tranyce Harris; his mother, Annie Dell Norman and his father, Jack Daniel Williams

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rita Harris; sons, Alford Tylandreous Harris, Kenneth and Theodis Jacobs; surviving siblings are James Harris (Cynthia), Bossier City, LA; Wayne Harris (Carol), Bossier City, LA; Herman McGee (Lois), Bossier City, LA; Bobby McGee (Bobby), Dallas, TX; Percy Williams, Bossier City, LA; C. L. Williams, Keithville, LA; Barbara James (Ronnie), Bossier City, LA; mother-in-law, Doris Brown, Ringgold, LA; sisters-in-law and husbands, Gail Payne (Dwight), Chicago, IL; Lisa Shelton (Greg), Shreveport, LA, and Rosalyn Bell (James), Houston, TX; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. His memory will be cherished by all.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Roseview and Cypress Point Nursing Homes, Willis-Knighton Bossier, LSU Medical Center, Feist-Weiler Cancer Center and the Stonewall Baptist Church staff and family for the wonderful care and compassion.
