SHREVEPORT, LA - Services honoring Alvin, known by those that loved him as PETE, will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport officiated by Fr. Francis Kamau. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 - 6:00 Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Rose-Neath Southside with a Rosary in Pete's honor from 6:00 - 7:00.
Pete was born in Memphis Tn, and joined the U.S. Army, June 1956, proudly serving his country. After moving to Shreveport, he began working at Western Electric and retired from AT&T/Lucent in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Earl and Lucille Mary McNamara Scholes.
Pete is survived by his brother Robert Scholes of Bossier City; sister Earline Ellis of Greenwood, MS; his wife and love of his life for the past 52 years June Lane Landry Scholes; daughters, Sherrie Haley and husband Pat of Haughton; Lisa Scholes-Nash and husband Randy of Shreveport ; son, Carl Scholes of Waxhaw NC ; Grandchildren, Billy Adcock, Lindsay Gisclair, Orie Haw, Tiffany Nash, Amy Bahm, Charity Tucei, Faith Scholes, Hope Scholes, and Noah Scholes; Great-Grandchildren Isabella Ordonez, Christopher Fagan, Aiden Wise, and the greatest joy in his life the last few years, Ryan, Brant and Lila Grace Gisclair.
The family extends their deepest thanks and gratitude to Dr. James May, Dr. Neera Chhabra and the wonderful caring staff at Progressive Care Center.
Serving with great pride as his Pallbearers will be Randy Nash, Pat Haley, Billy Adcock, Orie Haw, Sonny Landry, Tom Hayden, Ronald Causey and Raymond Causey. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the members of the St. Mary's of the Pines Men's Club.
