Ellen "Rose" Burks

Ellen "Rose" Burks passed away on January 21, 2014 in Richardson, Texas. Rose was born on December 19, 1957 to Gwendolyn Kidd Burks and Bobbie Ray Burks in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Woodlawn High School, and continued her education at Shreveport Bossier Vo Tech and Texas A& M University.

Rosebud will be remembered for her warm heart, contagious laughter, and zest for life. She was an independent woman and lived life on her own terms. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all.

Per Rose's wishes, her remains are being donated to science and no services are planned.

Rose is survived by brothers Robert Burks (Sheryl) of Des Moines, IA, and C. P. Burks (Ellen) of Fort Worth, nieces Amy Burks and Dusten Galvin of Des Moines, IA, as well as two great-nieces and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, whom she loved very much. May she rest in peace.
