Edward Webb

Shreveport, LA -Gerald (Jerry) Edward Webb, age 71, was born March 29, 1942 and was united with his parents, Joseph S. Webb and Pearl Edith Webb on January 22, 2014 who preceded him to his heavenly home. Also welcoming him home is his brother-in-law, R. H. Monroe, mother and father-in-law, Helen G. Scott and Royce E. Scott, Sr., brother-in-law, R. Elwyn Scott, Jr. and sister-in-law, Anita S. Bolton. Left to cherish his precious memories is his high school sweetheart and loving wife of over 50 years, Linda S. Webb; his two devoted and loyal sons, who he was always so proud of, Bradley Neal Webb and wife, Patti, Paul Douglas Webb and wife, Heather, three granddaughters, Madeline, Harleigh and Kelsey. He was their "Pops". He is also survived by his sister, LaFon Monroe, brother, Joe M. Webb and wife Katherine and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry loved his family, traveling, camping and treasured his time taking his sons hunting and fishing. Always enjoyed his Colorado hunting trips with good friends even if all they brought home were wonderful memories of a fun filled time. His reunion of his Vietnam buddies and their wives was always a highlight of each year in September. Brothers forever.

Jerry was a man of integrity, a man if his word and a devoted husband, Dad and Pops. He loved the Lord and His word. The Westlake Baptist Church family meant so much to him. He was at home where he was serving.

After 26 years at General Motors he retired in 2007. Working at several machine shops as a machinist in his younger days, he knew and was known by a world of friends.

Visitation will be January 23, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Westlake Baptist Church, 8379 N. Lakeshore Dr., Shreveport, LA with Rev. John McDonald and Dr. Barry Carter officiating. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery in Ringgold, LA with a 1:00 pm graveside time.
