Gloria Blakewood Frantom

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services honoring the life of Gloria Blakewood Frantom will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am and a service at 11:30 am at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 pm at Sander's Chapel Cemetery in Calvin, LA. Officiating will be the Reverend Andy Harris, of Central Assembly of God in Haughton, LA, who was one of Mrs. Frantom's former students while she was a Science teacher at Rusheon Junior High in Bossier City, LA. Gloria B. Frantom entered into rest on July 1, 2013 in Shreveport, LA.

Gloria received a Bachelor degree from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA, and a Master's degree and 30+ from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, in Education. She was proud to serve her country as a military spouse in Europe and across the United States, and enjoyed traveling throughout her life.

She loved nature, especially birds and butterflies. She was known as a very sweet, loving, and caring person, and will be greatly missed. She was a faithful church member and Christian.

Gloria Frantom is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Isom Frantom, her father, William Havard Blakewood, and her mother, Tenne Marie Grisgby Blakewood.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Wallace, Marcy Frantom, and Sylvia Gay Frantom; grandchildren, Christy Story, Erin Wallace, Jenny Wallace, and Stephanie Wallace; 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters Rena McKinney and Janis Franklin. There are many much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially from her church family.

Pallbearers will be Harold Golden, Ronnie Wooden, Max Turner, Jeremy Oxley, Brad Medlin, Buddy Watson, Glen McKinney, Drew McKinney, Billy Hogan, and Kenny Hogan. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Little and Buddy Cason.
