SHREVEPORT, LA-Funeral services celebrating the life of Grady A. Shows, 86, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at the funeral home.

Grady was born on May 4, 1927 in Jonesboro, LA and passed away on October 9, 2013. He was a resident of Shreveport. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy two separate times. He was employed by SWEPCO for 40 years, from 1948 beginning as a junior clerk and when he retired in 1989, was the division operations superintendent for the Louisiana division. He served many years as a deacon at Sunset Acres Baptist Church. His greatest joys were his family and his extensive travels with his sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Rozell. They traveled throughout this great land going to every state in the continental U.S. and also traveled to most of the provinces of Canada. He and Rozell truly had the ideal retirement. He was always ready to get the trailer, motor home or car packed and ready for a trip. Grady's love for The Lord and commitment to his faith was evident through the love he showed towards others and the life he lived. What a wonderful legacy he has left with us as a husband, dad, granddad, brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Lee Lindsey Shows; father, Arnold C. Shows and step-mother, Mildred Shows. He is survived by his wife, Rozell Shows; sons, Lindsey Shows and wife, Mary, Steven Shows and Kelly Shows; grandchildren, Natalie Smith and husband, Derrick, Lauren Power and husband, Nick, Andrew Shows and Taylor Shows; great-grandchildren, Ansleigh Smith, Dawson Smith and Trevor Power; sisters, Elouise Rasberry and Rita Wright; brother, Claudie Shows.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Willis Knighton MICU for the love, care and compassion they gave to our precious Grady and our family.
