Hazel Tarver Lohman Obituary
Hazel Tarver Lohman

Hazel Tarver Lohman, 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana after a brief illness. She was born in Kelly, Louisiana on March 9, 1914. She graduated valedictorian of her senior class at Mangham High School.

For many years, she lived in Shreveport, the wife of the late Zeke Lohman, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and the proud mother of two sons, Tommie and Dannie. She was always available to be involved with them in Cub Scouts as a Den Mother or drive the car pools to school, or take them and their dates to dances or athletic events at A.C. Steere, Broadmoor Junior High , or Byrd High School. She always enjoyed being a part of the lives her sons' and later their families' lives. While living in Shreveport, she attended Broadmoor Baptist Church and was a member of the Order the Eastern Star.

Later on she moved to Dallas and then Houston where she resided first at The Forum and then at The Village at Tanglewood retirement communities which was close to her son, Tommie and his wife Carolyn and the grandkids and great-grandkids.

She became a Texas Aggie Mom as a result of both sons being students and members of The Corps Of Cadets at Texas A&M University. Up until past couple of years she attended many Aggie football games and celebrated many of the honors and awards ceremonies that were held to honor son, Tommie in the years prior to his untimely death in February 2012. After Tommie's death she moved to Shreveport and was a resident of The Glen Retirement System close to son, Dannie and his wife, Marilyn. She enjoyed life and cherished the time spent with her family. Her mind was still sharp but her body was failing her as she managed to celebrate her 99th birthday on March 9th with some family and friends and two weeks later God called her home to him for peace and rest.

She leaves behind her son, Daniel Lohman and wife, Marilyn of Shreveport, Carolyn Lohman, widow of son Tommie, granddaughters Caroline Lohman of College Station, TX, Amber Gray and husband Cary of Houston TX, Holly Allison and husband Ernest of Annapolis, MD., Heather Milam and husband Chris of Lewisville, TX, Glen Lohman and wife Paige of Corrales, NM.
