Ida Anne Torrans
SHREVEPORT, LA-Services celebrating the life of Ida Anne Torrans, 79 will be held at 1:30 on Monday, August 19, 2013 at The Chapel at The Oaks of Louisiana. Officiating will be the Rev. Andrew Comeaux. Interment will be held at a later date. Anne was born on April 1, 1934 in Shreveport, LA. She went to be with our Heavenly Father on August 15, 2013. There to greet her in Heaven were her parents, Russell Anderson Torrans and Mae Belle Hines Torrans, two brothers, Michael Edward Torrans and John Russell Torrans, and sister Lucille Garmon.
Left to cherish her precious memory is her sister-in-law Ola Ann Greer Torrans of Ball, LA, two nieces, three nephews, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.
Anne was initiated into Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Chapter, in 1961 at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, she graduated from Northwestern State University in 1969, received her Master's Degree from LSU in Baton Rouge and then went on to receive her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Speech Pathology. She taught for a short time at Alabama State University before receiving her Ph.D. Ann also taught at LSU in Shreveport from 1973 until she retired as Professor of Communications.
Anne's family would like to thank Bernadette Jones Palombo for many years of friendship and loving care.
