James Gus Cameron

SHREVEPORT, LA - Gus Cameron went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 28, 2013. Services celebrating the life of Gus Cameron will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at Church of Christ-North at 3401 North Market in Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Garry Knighton. Interment will follow at Forest Park West in Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time, Monday, July 1, 2013 at Church of Christ-North where Gus served as an Elder for 35 years.

Gus was born on November 18, 1921 in Wesson, AR. He served his country proudly in the Army Air Corp and was stationed in Fairbanks, AK during World War II. After being honorably discharged he received his Bachelor's in business at Louisiana Tech and his MBA at the University of Denver. He then moved to Shreveport where he worked for State Farm for 58 years. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cornelia "Pat" and Charles E. Cameron; and uncles, Ted and Bill Cameron; and cousins, Ruby Fullenwilder, and Ray and Louis Sandifer.

James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Earline Sturdivant Cameron; sons, Ken Cameron and wife Julie, and Charles Cameron and wife Carol; and daughter, Cindy Wadsworth and husband Richard; grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris, Lisa, David, James, and Laurel Cameron; Cameron and Carson Wadsworth; and brother, Charles D. Cameron and wife Billie.

Honoring James as pallbearers will be Chris Cameron, David Cameron, James B. Cameron, Mike Martindale, Roger Smith, and Randy Perkins.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to Church of Christ-North in Shreveport, LA.
