Joe wished to be cremated and taken to our ranch, North Fork, in Toponas, Colorado. Our family will have his service this summer on Horsey Rock. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Osborn Funeral Home.
Our family thanks Dr. Robert Hernandez and his wonderful staff, our great staff of CNA's which took such wonderful care of him at our home and Kate Patty for exceptional physical therapy.
Joe was a most courageous person during this past year dealing with his illness. The Community Foundation of Shreveport would be a wonderful organization to make any donation.

Somehow I missed the notice of Joe's passing, Mary...so sad. I got my teeth cleaned today and all Claire and I could do was reminisce. What a giant of a man...best dentist ever! I am so glad I got to see you both recently. How blessed his patients were to have the best caring for them. I will pray for you. Celia Sawyer

Mary,
This is hard to believe--not only a great dentist, but one of the most likable and nicest guys I've ever met. Jo Ann agrees with me on this one.

Mary, I was so sad to hear this news; I didn't know Joe had been ill. Jack and I live in Dillon Colorado and I'm assuming you are still living in Colorado. Please keep in touch in the future. Coni

Mary -- Anne and I were so sorry to hear about Joe. He truly is one of those people whose name and face just bring a smile to all who were privileged to know him. I so enjoyed getting in a long visit with him at our 50th Byrd reunion. Our thoughts are with you.

Mary & Family, We're so sad to hear about Dr. Beard. I'll never forget our long talks when it came time for us both to say good bye to our love, denisty because of medical reasons. His wise, kind and gently words made it easier for me to give up hope of being able to continue doing something I loved so much. He was sometimes hard on the outside but a gentle bear on the inside with a smile that would light up a room. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you always.
