Larry Gene Irmer

KEITHVILLE, LA-Funeral services for Larry Gene Irmer, 79, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Shreveport Baptist Temple. Officiating will be Dr. Howard Hall and Dr. Weldon Adams. Interment will follow in Doyline Cemetery in Doyline, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Larry was born in Gresham, NE on January 20, 1934 to Arnold and Maxita Irmer. He passed away peacefully to his Heavenly Home on March 5, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. He was a resident of Keithville and retired from General Motors. He was of the Baptist faith. His hobbies included guns and going to gun shows, building and repairing cars, airplanes, and leather tooling. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lilla "Sunnie" Lee Irmer; and his brother, Jimmie Irmer. He is survived by his sister, Nancy A. Sachs; nieces, Shelley White and Julie Templeton; 5 great-nieces and nephews; 6 great-great-nieces and nephews; his best friends, John W. Foster, and Tommy Lemons.

Pallbearers will be Mike Berry, Tommy Lemons, Randy Grant, Colvin Baremore, Brad Hamilton and John Wayne Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Sullivan, Carl Martin, and Russell Avery.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Heritage Manor South, Willis-Knighton North and Willis-Knighton Pierrmont doctors and nurses for their loving care of Mr. Irmer.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
