Percy Lex Giddens was born May 19, 1922 and left this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. He graduated from Fair Park HS in 1939 and went on to LA Tech to study architecture and construction. After serving in the Coast Guard during WWII, he was President of Giddens Construction Co and also owned several other businesses during his career. He and his wife Genette, were homebuilders for 30+ years. He was a lifetime member of the El Karubah Patrol. When he retired from home building his business card read: Lex Giddens, Consultant - Expert Opinions on Golf, Fishing, Traveling & Loafing - and he did all of those things very well. He loved to hunt and fish. He and Genette were members of the Airstream Travel Club and the Motorcoach Travel Club and made many good friends while traveling all over the country. After they retired from traveling, he became a wood turner.

He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Genette; five children, P L Giddens, Jr. and wife, Louise of Monroe, La; Craig Giddens and wife, Mary of Shreveport; Sharon Floyd and husband, Bob of Shreveport; Charlotte Long and husband, Jim of Benton; and Carol Diehl and husband, Ed of Ft Worth, Tx. He had 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and 3 nephews, Larry, Robert and Don Giddens.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gertie R. Giddens and M A Giddens, his brother, Oscar Rush Giddens and his grandson, Brent Mattison.

As God teaches us in the Bible, he was a wonderful husband and father, a good provider and was a very blessed man to leave such a legacy. He will be greatly missed.
