MOORINGSPORT, LA - Graveside services for Mr. Richard "Jeep" May, age 76, will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday March 21, 2014 at North West Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA.
Richard was born August 25, 1937 in Athol, Massachusetts and passed away on March 14, 2014 after a short illness. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Angel Thompson and husband, Jay; Connie Bingham and husband, Jeff; Denise Evans and husband, John; seven grandchildren, Emily, Thomas, and Joseph Bingham; Elizabeth and Louis Wroten; Maggie May and John Matthew Evans; sister, Pennie Mallett and husband, Johnny; numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard owned and operated Custom Plastics for over 30 years before retiring. He served as a Crew Chief in the US Air Force. He was Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, served as the Finance officer at the American Legion, and member of the Moose Lodge. Richard was Listed in the Who's - Who in Louisiana and Most Outstanding American in the South in 1975. Richard will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Sandy Benedict, Randy Brown, Bobby Holloway, Greg Holloway, Jr. Holloway, Johnny Mallett and Dale Robins.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Hospice of Shreveport-Bossier for the care and support they gave during Richards's illness.
