At a very young age Robert confessed Christ. Robert attended Booker T. Washington High School from 1960-1964. He was a stellar athlete in football and track. After high school he moved to California and joined the U.S Marines Corp in 1967 where he served dutifully in the Vietnam conflict having earned several medals most notable the Purple Heart. Robert's discipline and patriotism in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest. After he was honorably discharged from the Marines, he relocated to Maryland where he worked for Washington Metro Transit Authority and later established a family business called Timeout Office Products.
In 1991 Robert left the nation's capitol and moved back to Louisiana to serve as his mother's caregiver. He also worked at the Shreveport Job Corps Center and VA Medical Center. Robert inspired many young men and women and challenged them holding firmly to the Marines motto "the few and the proud" if you want to be successful. He loved gambling, entertaining, great food, people, fun, and the bright lights."
