Russell Otto Snyder, Jr.

Shreveport, LA - Russell Otto Snyder Jr. age 86, passed away on June 30th 2014. He was born in Wilkinsburg PA on August 26, 1927 to Russell & Laura Snyder. He is survived by his wife Lucye Hendrick Snyder. Russell was a devoted father of 3 children, (Janice Snyder McKee, Betsy Snyder Guzman & Randy Snyder) 1 stepson (Tim G. Anderson), 5 grandchildren, & 3 great grandchildren. Russell graduated from Byrd High School, Centenary College & was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity. One of his proudest achievements was when he worked for the Shreveport Fire Dept. at the very beginning of WWII. After 2 years in the US Navy 1945-46 during WWII & 1950-1951 during the Korean Conflict, he served as an Internal Auditor for Arkla Gas for 35 years. He was a member of the Elks Club for 41 years, active in the Shreveport Chapter of AARP and loved to workout at Fitness World. Russell was a member of North Highlands United Methodist Church. A memorial service at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014.
