Zella Marie Reid

Haughton, LA Zella Marie Reid was born August 28, 1945 in Shreveport, LA. Her parents were Zella Rosetta and Charlie Edward Reid. She went to be with her Lord, peacefully, Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Bossier City after a lengthy illness.

Marie graduated from Fair Park High School in 1963, from Northwestern University in 1968 and received her Masters at LSUS. She taught at Logansport High School for 2 years and at Haughton High School for 30 plus years. She was a kind, loving, and caring person who touched the lives of many. She was an active member of First Baptist of Haughton Church.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Charlie and Henry. She is survived by her aunts, Clara Neal and Leta Reid; cousins, Cheryl Neal, Tom Neal, Robert Neal and wife Belinda, Julia Swatek and husband Paul, Alice Beaty and husband Mike , and Rocky Reid and wife Rene; close friends, Paul and Linda Wright, Karen Dodson, Pattye Watson, and Rebecca and Gary Morgan.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 17, 2014, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Sullivan. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 4 until 6 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Merel Branan, Gary Morgan, Lewis Covington, Robert Neal, Tom Neal and Chad Watson.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ted Warren and Dr. Michael Rokaw for the loving care given to Marie.

Memorials may be made to the , The Kidney Foundation or The Diabetes Foundation.
