Barbara M. Fodroczi Nov. 27, 1935 - June 20, 2014 GRANGER - Barbara Marie Fodroczi, 78, of Granger, passed away on Friday, June 20th, in Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Barbara was born November 27, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Evelyn (Stankeiwicz) and Julius P. "Rocky" De Volder, and was a lifetime area resident. On September 17, 1955, in South Bend, as Barbara M. De Volder, she married Stephen L. Fodroczi, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Susan M. Johnson of Elkhart, IN; a son, Stephen P. Fodroczi (Marty) of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Roseann Schramm (Ron) of St. Joseph, MI. Many other family members remain who will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott P. Fodroczi in 2005, and a daughter, Elizabeth Fodroczi in 1964. Barbara was passionate about anything related to gardening and was an accredited Master Gardner through Michigan State University. She was a founder and lifetime member of three area garden clubs. She was extremely active with Logan, Hope Ministries, Habitat for Humanity and the Red Hatters along with her bridge groups. She was intricately involved with many aspects of the 1987 International Summer Special Olympics. Her family appreciated her never ending energy and thoughtfulness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24th, in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Holy Cross College, with Rev. Kenneth Graebner, CSC, and Rev. Timothy O'Connor, CSC, concelebrating. The family will receive friends in the Sacred Heart Parish Center on the University of Notre Dame campus immediately following the Mass.
