Brian E. "Duke" Hoffman Aug. 17, 1931 - Mar. 21, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Brian E. "Duke" Hoffman, 82, of South Bend, IN passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Morning View Nursing Home, South Bend. He was born on August 17, 1931 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Floyd and Ruth (Davis) Hoffman. On April 4, 1987 in Imperial, MO he was united in marriage to the former Diana L. Nichols. Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Diana L. Hoffman; daughter, Sharon Hoffman of Clearwater, FL; two sons, Steven (Dawn) Hoffman of Clearwater, FL and Kurt (Awilda) Hoffman of Dyer, IN; six grandchildren; and one brother, Paul (Karen) Hoffman of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews. One brother, Richard Hoffman, preceded in death. Mr. Hoffman lived in South Bend for the last thirty-six years coming from California. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hoffman was self employed as a truck and RV Driver. For many years, he traveled and preached the gospel throughout the world, mainly in Peru, Africa and Europe. He worked through and was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship leading many ministry airlifts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Pastor Mark Lantz will officiate. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
