Family was always first and foremost for Carol. She was a full-time homemaker for all of her life, raising 4 children and playing an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. She was also an animal lover and often had a dog or a cat and sometimes stray kittens join the family. One of her "grand dogs" used to escape from his home to run a couple of miles to visit Grandma's house on a regular basis. Carol also worked outside the home at Robertson's Department Store, L.S. Ayres at Scottsdale Mall, 1st Source Bank and at the University of Notre Dame Registrar's Office. Carol and Bill were active members of American Turners of South Bend until they moved to Gravel Lake in Lawton, MI, in 1987. During their retirement years they were able to visit 49 of the 50 United States of America by taking several cross-country trips with their fifth wheel trailer, in addition to cruises to Hawaii and Alaska. They returned home to the Michiana area in 1998 and still traveled on occasion to family weddings in the mountain and western states. Carol is deeply loved and will be deeply missed. We all thank God for the beautiful life of Carol Joy. Family and friends may call on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N.
