SOUTH BEND - Cecil Devon Breden, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 12, in Memorial Hospital. Cecil was born on May 7, 1934, in Osceola, to Ralph and Addie (Truex) Breden. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ralph Jr. and Bob. On March 19, 1976, in South Bend, he married the former Bonnie Nufer. Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Bonnie; stepdaughter, Suzanne (Shawn) Wise of Denver, CO; and stepsons, Michael (Sherry) Borkowski of Chattanooga, TN, and Mark (Debbie) Borkowski of South Bend; his step-grandchildren, Michelle, Jake, Ryan, B.J., Amie and Misty; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon (Pete) Brown of Mishawaka, Darlene Carles of AL, Norma Smith of Fort Smith, AR, Blanch (Gordon) Ivy of Marshall, TX, and Linda Carles of AL; his brothers, Richard (Jeanne) Breden of Columbus, OH, and Bill (Barbara) Breden of Mishawaka; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Breden of Osceola. Cecil was a semi truck driver for 30 years before he retired in 1996. He loved helping Ron McClain with his race car, and loved spending time restoring old cars, fishing, and being on his snowmobile. Cecil was a veteran of the United States Army. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 16, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Peter Brown officiating.
