SOUTH BEND - Debra Notestine, 46, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 in her residence surrounded by her family. Debra was born July 11, 1967 to Harry and Suzanne (Molnar) Ruszkowski. Debra is preceded in death by her father, Harry Ruszkowski Jr.; daughter, Emily Ann Notestine and father-in-law, Keith O. Notestine. On February 27, 1999 in Jamaica, Debra married Kristopher Notestine; he survives along with her mother, Suzanne Ruszkowski of South Bend; children, Brock K. Notestine, and Amanda Sue Notestine both of South Bend; brother, Robert J. Ruszkowski of South Bend; and sister, Jody (Ryan) Klontz of South Bend; brothers-in-law, Kerry Notestine of Indianapolis, and Kyle (Stacy) Notestine of Naperville, IL; mother-in-law, Ruby Rigdon of South Bend; nieces, Lauren Notestine and Sydney Notestine both of Naperville, IL; and loving canine companion, Brady. Debra was employed by the University of Notre Dame as an Administrative Assistant and was a volunteer for the Southwest Central Fire Territory. She was a volunteer and coach at Southeast Little League, Troop leader of Girl Scouts #393, member of Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, 4H Club of Greene Township, former president of Kennedy Primary Academy PTO, active with American Red Cross and South Bend Parks and Recreation Department, former member of Indiana River Rescue School, former Vice President of Young Democrats of St. Joseph County, and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr. Debra was involved with the educational outreach for the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics (JINA), Founder of the Art 2 Science Camp at Notre Dame and the organizer of the JINA art gallery at the South Bend Regional Airport. Visitation for Debra will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2013 and Friday, October 25, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2013 in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
