Nov. 23, 1924 - June 22, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth A. McNulty, 87, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:15 pm Friday, June 22, 2012, at home. She was born in Passaic, NJ, on November 23, 1924, to the late Archontis and Cleopatra (Burzoukas) Christos. Elizabeth graduated from Riley High School in 1942 and attended Indiana University Bloomington. In February 1946, in Bloomington, she married Spiros P. Colyvas, who preceded her in death on February 7, 1964. On August 24, 1968, in South Bend, Elizabeth married Dr. Joseph F. McNulty, who survives. Elizabeth was a secretary at Sears, Bendix and for the U.S. Government, working for 30 years before retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church and the Daughters of Penelope, having served as President. In addition to her husband, Dr. Joseph McNulty of South Bend, Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Cleopatra (James) Martino of Granger and Andrianna (Paul) Colyvas-West of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, James Martino Jr. of Seattle, WA, and Dr. Michael (Kathleen) Martino, and their children, Kailyn, Sarah and Isabella of Pittsburg, PA; three very special nieces, Sylvia (Joseph) Leverett, Christyne McCain and Patricia (Geoffrey) Christos-Rogers; cousins, Nicholas (Sigrid) Thanos, Gus (Theresa) Thanos, Katina (Brent) Sherman, Elizabeth Bryan, Vivian (Harley) Sellers, Angela (Michael) Shenenman, Penny Korakis, Parry Kourlas, Yanni (Beth) Poulos. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Christy and Mary Christos. Elizabeth's life revolved around her family and friends, hosting many get-togethers. She enjoyed traveling and visited Greece numerous times, also Paris, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and many US states. Her warm smile, loving ways and generous hospitality will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, in St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, with Rev. George Konstantopoulous officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be donated to St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church or to the Center for Hospice Care, Inc., 4220 Edison Lakes Parkway, Suite #210, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
