James F. Klockow Feb. 16, 1941 - May 11, 2014 SOUTH BEND - James Frederick Klockow, 73, of South Bend, died Sunday, May 11th, in Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Jim was born February 16, 1941, in South Bend, to the late Imogene M. (Megan) and Herbert F. Klockow, and was a lifetime area resident. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Bostic (Bruce) of Walkerton, IN; sons, Kenneth J. Klockow (Betty) of Three Oaks, MI, David F. Klockow (Laurie) of Edwardsburg, MI, and Charles H. Klockow (Krista) of Bremen, IN; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Neil H. Klockow (Patricia) of Elkhart, IN, and Jerry L. Klockow of Nebraska. Jim graduated from Greene Township in 1959 and had spent his entire life in the local area. He served in the Army National Guard. Jim was employed by Bendix in South Bend where he worked as a machinist and eventually retired. His love of farming was evident after 31 years of being a farmer in the North Liberty area. He enjoyed many Tractor Shows and Tractor Pulls with family and friends. He also attended Car Shows and was a "Hot-Rod" enthusiast. In his later years, his greatest enjoyment was meeting with a group of friends for breakfast every morning. He was a member of the Lions Club. He attended and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 19th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. Kevin Meek of Trinity Evangelical Free Church officiating. Committal services and burial with military honors will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18th, from 2 until 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Township Lions Club.
