GREENWOOD, IN - John A. Hart passed away peacefully on February 11, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87. He was born on May 11, 1926, in Decatur, IL, to the late J. Frank Hart and Mary Jane Hart. John was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WW II as Staff Sergeant Major. He graduated in 1950 from The James Millikin University in Decatur, IL, with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and graduated in 1953 from Utah State University with a Master of Science Degree in Education. He taught high school science and math for a number of years before changing to a career in sales and retired from Aon Corporation in 2001. John is survived by his 5 children, Michele A. Dasinger (Daniel), Debra A. Ignaut (James), Barbara A. Ethier (Craig), John J. Hart (Michele) and James M. Hart (Robyne). Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Emily A. Heitzmann (Casey), Daniel C. Dasinger, John Henry Dasinger, Timothy M. Dasinger, Hillary A. Bialek (Brian), James A. Ignaut (Harmony), Christopher J. Ignaut, Colin E. Ethier, Mallory E. Hart, Meghan M. Hart, Parker J. Hart; and 5 great-grandchildren, Mary Mathilde Heitzmann, Brennan Bialek, Keenan Bialek, James Ignaut and Owen Ignaut; sister, Freda Frazee; nieces, Patti Smith, Carole Brooker and Janea Matherly; and nephew, Filiberto Anastasio. John was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; sisters, Francis Helm and Virginia Fogel; and brother, Samuel Hart. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Saints Francis & Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, IN, on Saturday, February 15th, 2014, to celebrate John's life. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to the G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka, IN 46544. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.
