Larry Goller Sept. 22, 1934 - July 19, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Larry Robert Goller, 79, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Hospice House in South Bend. He was born September 22, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Fred & Alice (Stoffer) Goller. On March 5, 1966, in South Bend, he married Gertrude J. Grocki. She survives along with three children, Kenneth (Rhonda) Goller of Granger, Karen (Larry) Thoma of South Bend, Kristine Weaver of Elkhart; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Goller Jr. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Goller. Larry was a veteran of the USMC, serving in Korea. He was a member of the VFW Post 1167 in South Bend and was an avid bowler. When Larry was named president of the South Bend Bowling Association of the American Bowling Congress, it marked the first time that both a father and son had held that office locally. Larry retired in 1999 from TRANSPO where he worked as bus driver for twenty-seven years. After his retirement he worked as a greeter for Walmart for fifteen years. In keeping with Larry's wishes, there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
