Margaret Hindle April 24, 1929 - May 31, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Margaret Elizabeth Hindle, 85, passed away at 2:40 PM Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her nephew's home in Nappanee, IN. Margaret was born on April 24, 1929 in Illinois to the late John and Anne (Erthel) Hindle. She graduated from Purdue University. Margaret retired from Indiana Bell in 1989 following 36 years of service. Margaret is survived by her brother, James (Carol) Hindle of Knox, IN; a niece, Julie (John) Origer of North Judson; and two nephews, Mike (Starr Godfrey) Hindle of Nappanee and John Hindle of Laporte. Margaret was very involved in the South Bend community. She volunteered at the Studebaker Museum and the Center for History. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Retirees; the American Legion Auxiliary, Knox; and of the American Women's Business Association. She also volunteered with the MDA Marathon, answering the phones during the telethon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN where friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until time of services. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, IN. Contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
