Milton Odom Obituary

Milton Charles Odom Oct. 2, 1966 - March 7, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Milton Charles Odom, 48, went to be with the Lord, his mother, Lorraine Harris Odom, and father, Milton Odom Jr., on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Born October 2, 1966, in South Bend, IN, he is survived by his brother, Gregg Odom, and sisters, Leslie Dudley & Pamela Garcia. He died doing what he loved best, playing basketball, with one of the people he loved best, his oldest nephew, Frederick Antion Dudley. Milton deeply loved all his nieces and nephews: Janelle Dudley, Stephen Odom, Alicia Hughes, Teryn Dudley, Paulo Garcia and Tiffany Dudley, Frederick's wife. All twelve of his great-nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart. He graduated from LaSalle High School, South Bend, IN, with an adventuresome spirit that gave him a hunger for travel. He lived in New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis, Chicago and Phoenix. Of all the places he visited, Paris, France, was the city he loved most. His love of music, basketball, and reading were often a reason to embark on a journey. The joy he received from these hobbies was surpassed only by the love he had for family and friends. The embodiment of loving kindness, Milton Odom left behind a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. We will come together to celebrate his life on Sunday, April 5, 2015, 3:00, North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85012. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Foundation 48 Pass the Rock https://www.crowdrise.com/MiltonCharlesOdom/fundraiser/johnkiladis.

I have known the Odom, Dudley & Harris Families for more years than I can count and join you in loving, missing and as you grieve Charles' going to be with The Lord before Us. This is a beautiful Picture of Charles, brings back so many memories of the times I was blessed to spend with Him - when he was visiting his Aunts Rosemarie & Nimbie; so many good times. Please know that .. Now and without expiration, if you need me or there is something I can do, please don't hesitate to let me know. For now and without ceasing, you are All in my Prayers; I'm lifting you up. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4
