Phyllis Hillerman Watt Sept. 2, 1927 - July 15, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Phyllis Hillerman Watt died Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was the second of two daughters born to Aurelia Rotzoll and William Hillerman in South Bend. She attended Indiana University and studied art at Wayne State University and San Diego State. She was a resident of L.A. where she was a model and artist. In 1951 she joined the US Civil Service and went to Japan with the Occupation Forces. In 1960 she returned to the United States where she worked at the Bendix Missile Plant. She spent a total of seven years in Japan. She recorded the numerous experiences in her book, An Affair to Remember with Japan. In 1965 she married Robert Watt and moved to Bloomington. She was a faithful member of the Bloomington United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Judith, her son, Carl, daughter-in-law, Janna, and two grandchildren, Natalie and Cara. Memorial services will be held today, July 22, 2014, at the Bloomington United Presbyterian Church at 11.00 am.
