Sharon Lee Stephens Oct. 11, 1937 - June 16, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Sharon Lee Stephens, 76, of South Bend, passed away in her son's home on June 16th. Sharon was born in South Bend on October 11, 1937, to the late Russell and Emma (Kish) Miller. On August 19, 1961, in South Bend, she married Ferd Stephens. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2012. Sharon graduated from the University of Notre Dame. She was a school teacher with the PHM School Corp., and was the art teacher at Elsie Rogers School for many years. She belonged to the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed painting and reading books, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren, Heather, Holly and Conor. Sharon is survived by her three sons, Phil (Janet) Stephens of South Bend, Russ (Janeen) Stephens of South Bend and Wes Stephens of Granger. She was the grandmother of eight, Heather and Holly DeShepper, Shawn and Austin Kuhl, Conor Stephens, Francis Conley, Olivia Stephens and Claire Stephens. She is also survived by her sister, Carol (John) Gillman of Kalamazoo, MI, and a special daughter-in-law, Stephanie DeShepper of Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 21st, from 10 until 11:00 am in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the funeral chapel, with Rev. Ron Drake officiating.
