Arthur E. Gladu Jr., 72, of Middleboro and formerly of Fall River, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Beatrice (Anzivino) Gladu of Middleboro. Son of the late Arthur and Eileen Gladu, Arthur was born in Fall River and was a graduate of Durfee High School. He was a director of Human Resources for the state of Massachusetts prior to his retirement. Arthur proudly served his country in the Navy for twenty years. Arthur was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge 2606 in Florida, Middleboro Rod and Gun Club, and the Old Colony Lodge of Hingham. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cruising on his Harley, and his many pickup trucks. Arthur cherished his wife, was incredibly proud of each of his children and adored and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Gladu of Middleboro; his children, Robert Gladu, Steven Gladu, Christine Gladu and David Gladu, all of Texas, and Bryan Blundell and his wife Stacy (Thomas) of Bridgewater, Debby Johnson and her husband Chris of Raynham, and Earl Blundell of Bridgewater; his sisters, Barbara Costa of Fla., and Kathleen Connor of Conn. Arthur was the grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Jay Blundell. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole, and Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 12, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
