Brian Jude Edwards, 54, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, died Aug. 5, 2013, at his home in Fremont, N.H., and now rests in the arms of his Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. He was born Feb. 11, 1959, in Boston, Mass., son of James Lester Edwards and the late Margaret Rose (Lydon) Edwards. As a child, Brian grew up in Brant Rock and East Bridgewater, Mass. He graduated from East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1977, where he excelled as an athlete in football and track, and as a trumpeter in the band. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 3 years. Brian returned home to Massachusetts where he began his career as a carpenter. He worked for several local area construction companies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. His most current employer was Ironwood Construction in Hampstead, N.H. Brian married Rachel S. Widger on Sept. 11, 1999. They settled in Exeter, N.H., and then moved to Fremont, N.H., to raise their children. Brian was a devoted and proud communicant and usher of St. Joseph Church in Epping, N.H. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. St. Joseph Church and the members of the church brought much happiness to Brians life. Brian enjoyed spending time at the ocean, woodworking, gardening and playing darts; however, his main focus in life was growing in his faith and spending time with his wife, children, family and church family. He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Edwards; his son, Jack Edwards; his daughter, Emma Edwards; his father, James L. Edwards; 3 brothers, Jim Edwards, Tom Edwards, and Steve Edwards; 2 sisters, Ann Edwards and Ellen Achin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and one great-niece. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH 03042.
