Edward A. Kamel, 84, of Avon, formerly of Brockton and West Roxbury, died Aug. 15, 2013. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a 1948 graduate of Brockton High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Edward was a member of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church. He was formerly a barber in West Roxbury and was an avid card player. He was a member of the Conte Memorial Club and the French Club where he was known as Huey. Edward was the son of the late Samuel and Annie Kamel; beloved husband of Janet M. (Nader) Kamel for 57 years; loving father of Sam Kamel of Avon, Michelle Yundt and her husband William of Avon, Edward Kamel and his wife Norma of Texas, Ann Marie Sargent of Raynham and Kathleen Williams of Bridgewater; grandfather of Edward Holden Kamel, Christyn Hobbs, James Yundt, Jacqueline Kamel, Joseph Sargent, Andrew Sargent, Jessica Williams and Elizabeth Williams; great-grandfather of Katherine and Landon Hobbs; brother of Catherine Mirza of Randolph, Lorraine Hill of Bridgewater and other deceased sisters and a brother; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. with an incense service at 2 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Monday at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. service of the Divine Liturgy celebrated in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Avon.
