Edward R. Hack Hackenson age 91 of West Bridgewater, MA died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care in Brockton after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Leonard) Hackenson for 38 years. Born Wednesday, May 4, 1921 in Brockton he was the son of the late Rudolph and Betty (Anderson) Hackenson and was a life long resident of West Bridgewater. He worked for 30 years at the former A.F. German Co. in Brockton and was a Special Police Officer for the town of West Bridgewater for 43 years and a Call Fire Fighter for 44 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a member of the Fire Fighters and Police Associations. He is survived by a daughter Laurie Brown of NH; a son Eric E. Hackenson of West Bridgewater; 5 stepchildren Robert Johnson of Chester, MA, Patricia Ovitt of Westfield, MA and David Johnson, Kathryn Anderson and James Johnson all of West Bridgewater; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his ex-wife Joann (Welch) Hackenson of NH and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Temple Baptist Church, 540 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA.
