James A. Lindelof, 60, of Stoughton, died Feb. 4, 2014, in the company of his family after a long illness. A resident of Stoughton for most of his life, James was an alumnus of Stoughton High School (Class of 1972) and of Lowell Technological Institute (now UMass-Lowell), where he was a member and treasurer of Alpha Epsilon chapter of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. He was a private investigator for many years and, prior to that, worked as a mechanical contractor. A former active member and officer of Rotary International in Stoughton, he served on the Stoughton Finance Committee. He enjoyed politics, movies, classic rock, golf, travel, and daily gatherings with friends. James was the son of the late Richard C. and Barbara H. (Buckley) Lindelof. He was the loving husband of Chu Le Lindelof of Stoughton; father of Erika (Lindelof) Spearin of New Bedford, Stephanie (Lindelof) Keller of Easton, Allison Lindelof-Morrison of London, England, James R. Lindelof of Stoughton, Jodi Lindelof Van Voorhis of Potomac Falls, Va., Timmi Thai of Weymouth, and Tony and Ellen Thai Lindelof, both of Stoughton; grandfather of 10. He is also survived by Kathleen Lindelof, mother of Jodi and James R.; and his brothers, Richard Lindelof, Scott Lindelof, and William Lindelof.
