John W. Suba Jr. Obituary
John William Suba Jr., 91, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, of Bridgewater, died peacefully on the morning of Feb. 1, 2014, from a short term illness. He was born in Somerville, Aug. 7, 1922. He was the son of the late Lt. J.G. John Suba, U.S. Navy from Waterbury, Conn., and Mary (Golden) Suba, a homemaker from Brighton. John proudly served in World War II on the USS Belleau Wood CVL-24 Aircraft Carrier and in the Korean War Reserves. Also, during WWII, his older brother Teddy Suba served in the U.S. Navy and his older sister Evelyn (Suba) Shea served in the Womens Air Corp., both preceded him in death. He was the former husband of the late Eleanor (Sharpe) Suba from Florida. He leaves behind 6 loving children, Jean Bettini of Easton, Ted Suba of Easton, E. Nancy Parrish of Canton, Bill Suba of Florida, Linda Arruda of Florida, Carol Ciulla and Ken Ciampa of Bridgewater, with whom he resided and cared for him for many years. He also leaves behind 17 loving grandchildren; 17 loving great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, family, neighbors and friends who will all miss him dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass service at Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, 103 Center Street, Bridgewater, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at 1 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the church.
