Joseph S. DeMarco Obituary
Joseph S. DeMarco, 81, of Brockton, died August 13, 2014. He was 1 of 14 children of the late John and Mary DeMarco. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and also served in the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps. He retired as a mechanic from Polaroid after 24 years, later working at Reiser in Canton for another 10 years. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 697, Whitman and a member of the Italian American War Veterans. Joseph enjoyed riding motorcycles, singing, bowling and running. He enjoyed trips to the North End, Castle Island, Vt., N.H., Maine and Cape Cod. He loved spending time with his grandson and volunteering at the V.A. and food pantry in Brockton. Joseph was the beloved husband of Claire A. (Colantonio) DeMarco; loving father of Michael DeMarco of West Warwick, R.I., and Robert DeMarco of Brockton; devoted grandfather of Joseph M. DeMarco; brother of Madeline Brewer of Abington and George DeMarco of Fla.; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 9-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. service in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.
