Michael P. Brandt, 61, of Brockton since 1997, died Oct. 20, 2012. Born in Heidelberg, Germany, to military parents, he was raised both overseas and all over the United States, but was mostly in Satellite Beach, Fla., and New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant and was enlisted for a total of 13 years. Always employed in telecommunications, he was a senior technician at Verizon Business. He was a member and shop steward of IBEW Union Local 2222. He enjoyed barbeques, tinkering with electronic gadgets and watching football. Michael was the beloved husband of Janet (Gallino) Brandt since 1989; loving father of Patrick, Andrew, Craig and Joseph, all of Brockton; brother of Patricia Eaton of North Carolina and the late Margaret and Jack Brandt; brother-in-law of Joseph Gallino and his wife Terry of New York; and an uncle of nieces and nephews. Michael also leaves behind many friends. All are welcome to calling hours Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.
