Richard C. Horne, 67, of 194 Central Street, Gardner, died suddenly Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester. Born in Brockton on May 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Bertram and Evelyn (Walsh) Horne. Richard graduated from Brockton High School, Brockton with the Class of 1964. He was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran, and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert (M-16A1Rifle) Badge. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots on television. Richard leaves one brother, Kenneth J. Horne of Rutland, Vermont; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services and burial will be held Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
