Robert A. Buckley, of Braintree and South Yarmouth, passed away Dec. 10, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Born and raised in Brockton, Bob graduated from Boston University. He served in Italy for the U.S. Army during World War II and was a manager at New England Telephone prior to his retirement. Bob was also a past president of the Rotary, Kiwanas Club, and the East Boston Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed spending the winters in Sarasota, Fla. Beloved husband for 52 years of Claire (Gleason) Buckley, he was the loving father of Mary-Jane Ruggels of San Anselmo, Calif., and Tricia Cook of Centerville, Va.; dear grandfather of Nathaniel, Caroline, and Benjamin Cook, and Desmond and Annabel Ruggels; devoted brother of the late Justin Buckley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Clares Church, Braintree, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
