Robert D. Zaniboni Obituary
Robert D. Zaniboni, age 79, died peacefully Feb. 2, 2014, at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of 48 years to Mary Agnes (Mazalewski) Zaniboni of Plymouth. Born in Plymouth, Sept. 23, 1934, a son of the late Evo and Edonia (Pirani) Zaniboni, he was educated at Plymouth High School. Following his high school education, Mr. Zaniboni entered the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country attaining the rank of Corporal. Once honorably discharged, Mr. Zaniboni worked in sales. He worked for the Samuel Arons Company for many years. He sold wholesale candy, tobacco products, and in later years automobiles. Robert was an avid baseball fan and in earlier years was active coaching Plymouth Little League. He enjoyed painting and spending time in his workshop. He loved traveling with his wife Mary and they spent many years wintering in Florida. Their travels included several trips to Hawaii which brought him many fond memories. He held a place close to his heart for his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Besides leaving his wife Mary, Mr. Zaniboni was the loving father of Robert D. Zaniboni Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Tiffany Hagerty and her husband Andrew of Mansfield and Tara Dumser and her husband John of Plymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of Angela Zaniboni, Annabella and Drew Hagerty, and Connor, Molly and Colton Dumser. He was the beloved brother of the late Alton Zaniboni; and is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Zaniboni of Plymouth. The funeral will take place Saturday morning at 9:15 from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St.Peters Church, 86 Court St., Plymouth, at 10 a.m. Friends may visit at the Cartmell Funeral home Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
