Scotia A. Crest of Assonet, 67, died peacefully Dec. 21, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Scotia was the daughter of the late Albert and Allison (MacRae) Hunt and grew up in Bridgewater. Scotia was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School, Class of 1964, and also earned two master's degrees in education, one from Bridgewater and the other from Simmons. She married (late) Bruce E. Crest on Aug. 28, 1971. The two raised their children in Assonet. She was a Raynham elementary school teacher for 43 years. She loved to teach, visit Greece, go to Disney with her grandchildren, Brant Rock, NE Patriots and most of all being with friends and family. She is survived by her children, Lauren A. (Crest) O'Connell and Dan O'Connell of Assonet and Brian A. Crest of Fall River. She was an adored "Gramma" of Bruce and Elizabeth; and sister of Albert and Irene Hunt of NC and Bruce and Marcia Hunt of Brant Rock. A visitation period will be held Friday, Dec. 27, at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held privately.
