Steven P. LaCerda, 59, of Brockton, formerly of Whitman and Hanson, died Friday, Dec. 20, in Good Samaritan Medical Center. Steven was born in Brockton, son of the late John A. and Jennie N. (Jangle) LaCerda and was a graduate of Brockton High School. Steve worked for Knapp Shoes, Foxboro Company, was an Auxiliary Whitman Police officer, also worked in BCI for the Plymouth County Sherriff Department and recently for the Hilliards Chocolate Systems as a machinist. He was an antique and hot rod car enthusiast, belonging to South Shore Street Rods, Wheels of Time and the Pacesetters. Steve also enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling. He is survived by his son, Steven P. LaCerda Jr. of Buzzard Bay; his brothers, Robert E. LaCerda of Florida, David J. LaCerda and his wife Ruth of Missouri, Dennis W. LaCerda and his wife Pauline of Whitman; also many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Elizabeth LaCerda and brother of the late John A. LaCerda and Leonard LaCerda. His funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater.
