Walter J. Hull Jr., age 89, of Avon, died peacefully Saturday, August 16, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the devoted husband for 70 years of Rita P. (Morgan) Hull. Walter was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, a son of the late Julia T. (Hurley) and Walter J. Hull Sr., and was a graduate of the Boston Mechanic Arts High School. He had been a resident of Avon for over 50 years. During World War II, Walter served in the U.S. Navy and participated in the Normandy Invasion.
