Brian Patrick Donaher, age 75, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at home, Friday, March 8, 2013. He was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. Brian was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1955, with a four-year full merit scholarship. He was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Class of 1959. He later received a Masters Degree in Classics from Boston College and a Masters Degree in Philology from Harvard University. Brian taught classical languages, Latin and Greek, at Boston College High School for fifty-one years. He has been the only teacher to reach that milestone in the schools 150 year history. He was a co-founder of the Homeric Academy at BC High. Brian was well known and respected by his students and colleagues as a brilliant teacher and scholar. He enjoyed gardening, was a jazz and classical music enthusiast and was generous to many charities. Brian devoted his life to his family and to Boston College High School. Beloved husband for forty-three years of Margaret L. Marge (Stapinski) Donaher. Devoted father of Patrick A. Donaher of Quincy and Luke E. Donaher and his wife Jennifer of Hartford, CT. Cherished son of the late Patrick J. and Mary (OConnell) Donaher. Dear brother of Mary Ellen Anglewicz of Detroit, MI, Catherine Donaher of Brookline and Clare Donaher of Washington, DC. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, March 13th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Tuesday 3 | 8 p.m. Interment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
