Catherine A. Ceurvels, 85, of Quincy, passed away Dec. 4. She was the beloved mother of seven children, Corinne Chesbrough and husband Robert of Woburn, Deborah Little and husband Stephen of Weymouth, Mark Woods and wife Eleanor of Quincy, Katherine Garrigan and husband Mickey of Hyannis, Daniel Ceurvels and wife Pamela of Weymouth, Michael Ceurvels and wife Tina of Plymouth, and Scott Ceurvels of Dorchester. Also a daughter-in-law Christine Bowes and her husband Donald of Quincy. She now joins in eternity with her parents George S. Gifford and Ethel May Gifford as well as her siblings George, Winifred, Rita, Patricia, Barbara, Mary Lou and James. She was the devoted grandmother of 21 grandchildren and the late Kayla Frances Little, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews, including Sheila Kearney and children of Avon. Mrs. Ceurvels was born and raised in South Boston, later moving to Quincy. She worked for Howard Johnson for almost thirty years. She also worked for Stop and Shop for ten years at the end of her career. She was loved by all and her home was always open to all who needed a place to stay or a helping hand. She will be missed by all and was loved by all. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Mass for Mrs. Ceurvels Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, Quincy. Interment following at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the Lydon Chapel for Funerals, 644 Hancock Street, Quincy.
