Charles Charlie Francis Allegra, 86 years of age, entered life eternal unexpectedly Aug. 3, 2013, at his home in East Weymouth, although he had been in declining health. He was born in Hingham and educated in local schools. He was a World War II Army veteran. Charlie had been a mechanic for the Weymouth Public Works Department and for Norfolk Motors in East Weymouth. For the past seventeen years he served as an assistant superintendent at Fairmount Cemetery, East Weymouth, under the leadership of Superintendent Richard Godin. He enjoyed gardening and particularly caring for his grapevine in his back yard. He was a communicant of Saint Albert the Great Parish in Weymouth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine A. (Donnellan) Allegra; his three devoted children, Sharon E. Allegra fiance of Michael Ellis of Ventura, Calif., Mark C. Allegra of Brockton and Ann E. Allegra married to Dusty Horwitt of Washington, D.C. He was the loving grandfather of Kerrin, Kirstyn and Gina; and the loving great-grandfather of Jenna, Makyla, Karlie and Andrew. He was the brother of Tilda Daniel of Virginia, Frank Allegra of Hingham and the late John Allegra, Madeline Allegra and Rose LEsperance. He was the son of the late Rosario and Josephine (Miceli) Allegra. He is also survived by his loving cats, Pumpkin and Ginger. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad St. (opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square), East Weymouth, Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Catholic committal and prayer service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery, Cedar Street, East Weymouth, Thursday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be sent to Massachusetts Humane Society, Inc., 87 Wharf St., E.
