Charles J. Conti Obituary
Charles J. Conti, age 89, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the John Adams Healthcare Center in Quincy, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester schools and has lived in Quincy for twenty-five years, previously in Dorchester. As a young man, he worked as a barber and later was employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service at the South Postal Annex in Boston. He was a U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. During World War II, he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and participated in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. Charles enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. Beloved husband for forty-five years of Olga L. (Spinelli) Conti, he was the brother of Frank Conti and his wife Billie of Quincy; and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday 2-5 p.m. Interment with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
